Yesterday was a great day! I went on two tours of London on my birthday! First, we took a coach tour of the area, saw the Harry Potter bridge, Westminster Abbey, and some other cool places/buildings that I can't remember. Then we toured the neighborhood on foot, went down little alley ways, that are called Mews, and learned some of the history of the neighborhood. We're truly lucky to be living in Kensington, where the residents pay millions upon millions to live. Though it would be nice if there was more of a college-y feel to it.
Then at night we went out for my birthday! A bunch of the other students got me a bottle of wine, a cupcake, and a card, and it really meant a lot. I was sort of homesick, since I wasn't at school with my friends to celebrate, but this was definitely a great time, and I'm so thankful that they did that for me!
We intended to go to a club, but the club was closed. Apparently not a lot of people like to go out the week or so after Christmas and New Years (can you believe New Years was only last week?!) Well, we walked, or rather drunkenly walked, around wherever it was that we were. And by the way, drinking on the tube is not legal. #sorryimamerican
Cheers,
B
It's me again. Tbanks for answering the pound exchange rate question. Now, I'm wondering, what's the tube? I'm guessing the subway or something like that. BTW, it's Aunt Abbe, but I post under anonymous because the other options seem too confusing.
ReplyDeleteHey Aunt Abbe! I though it might be you! And yes, the tube is their version of the subway. It's more comparable to New York City's system then Philly's, in that there are a ton of different lines to take.
